The mission of the School Library Information Centre at Emily Carr Secondary School is to help students with their studies in all subject areas. During the school day, classes visit the library for resource-based learning experiences, created and facilitated by both the classroom teacher and the teacher-librarian. The library actively fosters the joy of reading. The overall goal of the library programme is to help students become life-long learners by developing strong research skills that they need for academic advancement in the 21st Century. In the Library Information Centre there is a full complement of networked computers to allow students access to electronic resources for research and for presentation purposes. In addition, an online Information Centre, an extension of the physical library space, has been created her to help support our students.
